Graph Wedgelets: Adaptive Data Compression on Graphs Based on Binary Wedge Partitioning Trees and Geometric Wavelets

We introduce graph wedgelets - a tool for data compression on graphs based the representation of signals by piecewise constant functions adaptively generated binary partitionings. The adaptivity partitionings, key ingredient to obtain sparse representations signal, is realized in terms recursive wedge splits adapted signal. For this, we transfer adaptive partitioning and techniques known 2D images general structures develop discrete variants continuous space prove that results best $m$ -term approximation with geometric wavelets can be transferred setting show our wedgelet encoded implemented simple way. Finally, illustrate this graph-based method applied as well.
